Dahlia Division & Care

in the Propagation House at Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens
Join MCBG Nursery Manager, Lyn Anton, and learn to divide dahlias before they begin to sprout. Lyn will discuss dahlia anatomy and the different types of dahlias before diving into the art of dahlia division. You’ll get your hands dirty dividing tubers and take one home to practice all you have learned. The class will wrap up with tips on storing tubers, tricks for overwintering, and a discussion on how to grow dahlias.

Class size is limited! Registration for this workshop must be completed in advance online (click the appropriate registration link below) or at the MCBG gift shop. Please note, all workshop fees are non-refundable unless the workshop has been canceled or rescheduled by the Gardens.

THE DETAILS
- Masks are required during this hands-on workshop. If you are sick, please stay home.
- The class will be held in the unheated Propagation House, be prepared for cool temperatures with appropriate layers.
- Bring a sharp pair of pruners (if available), gloves, paper, and a pencil/pen.
