Volunteer Training
Each Friday in March of 2021
from 10:00AM to 12:00PM
Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens is offering free training to those who would like to join our team of knowledgeable and passionate volunteers. This training is for those who can commit to at least 4 hours of volunteer work in the MCBG Vegetable Garden per week during the 2021 growing season (April - October).
Learn about crop rotation and planting, propagation, soil preparation and intro to pests, diseases and weeds (ID, prevention and control) companion planting, planting and harvesting techniques. We ask that you attend all four sessions so you can see how the garden is run and the techniques we use in a comprehensive, systematic way. Schedules will be flexible after the initial training.
TO SIGN UP for the Vegetable Garden volunteer training please contact Avvah at gardener_avvah@gardenbythesea.org.
The MCBG Vegetable Garden donates more than three tons of fresh organic produce to the Fort Bragg Food Bank annually, and we supply our seasonal café with produce twice a week. We inspire and teach tens of thousands of visitors, including school groups, to grow their own regenerative gardens. We need your help to keep this giving garden growing!
