Mushroom Habitats Walk

Saturday, November 12, 2022
from 12:00PM to 2:00PM

CLASS FULL – CLICK HERE if you wish to be added to the waitlist or check out our other opportunities, including Monday Mushroom Walks and our more in-depth Mushroom ID Workshops.

While we wait patiently for rain... let's learn where our magnificent mushrooms like to live! Take a guided tour with Naturalist and Mycologist, Mario Abreu to learn where you might find mushrooms once the winter rains prompt them to spring from the earth. This walk will explore common mushroom habitats with focus on the associated trees. Mario will also cover how mushrooms benefit from trees, tree identification basics, which mushroom species are associated with certain trees, and more.

  • There is a $25 registration fee to attend a Mushroom Habitats Walk, this includes admission to Gardens for the day (discounted rate for current MCBG Members – $15 member registration).
  • Reservations are required. This walk is limited to 14 participants.
  • We ask that all visitors consider wearing a mask in our indoor areas and when interacting with our staff. Please read and follow our local Health Order. If you are sick, please stay home.

Class size is limited! Registration for this walk must be completed in advance online. Please note, all registration fees are non-refundable unless the walk has been canceled or rescheduled by the Gardens.
