Nature Sketchbook Workshop
Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29
10:00AM to 3:00PM
Instructor Pam Luer, www.pamluer.com is an artist and instructor whose work focuses on maintaining her connection to nature through art making. She will be guiding your sketchbook practice for the weekend at Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens.
This two-day workshop is for anyone who wants to add an element of art while on the go, in your backyard or on your next trip. All you need is a love of nature, an inquisitive eye, and a few carefully selected drawing tools. Put your skills to use right away and enjoy the rewards of documenting the everyday beauty that is all around. With a dose of slow observation and a handful of drawing tools, you will be able to find that flow and connect to our living, breathing, blooming garden by the sea through your sketchbook.
This workshop is for all levels of experience. Whether you are an artist who wants to gather up a small selection of tools from your studio to work outdoors, or a beginner who longs to learn a new skill while enjoying the intimacy of drawing from nature, this class is for you.
Pam will help participants observe and draw in new ways while expanding their understanding of the natural world. Observation is key. By learning to closely look at your subject you’ll grow as an artist and expand your experience in nature.
Visit Pam’s website to take a look at her work and what previous students have to say about her workshops. You’ll find a couple very short testimonial videos on her workshop page to help you get an idea about the class in general.
