Arrivederci mushrooms!

2010 Mushroom season was a great success!

This year the Gardens was just popping with mushrooms and people traveled from all over to come learn more about them.

Along with our unique mushroom signs that were rotated through the Gardens, we hosted mushroom id walks from November through early January for over 300 visitors. MCBG Naturalist Mario Abreu taught three specialty workshops on identification. In addition, Ryane Snow, PhD, local mushroom expert and Classical Chinese Medicine Practitioner explored the medicinal uses of mushrooms. And John Richardson, local organic farmer, shared his techniques for growing oyster mushrooms.

Be sure to join us again next winter when the mushrooms return in all their glory!
